Data Trek Technologies Ltd is looking for a software engineer to join a new Code Management team to help them build and operate their source control, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and package management capabilities. The team will enable other technology teams to deliver system changes frequently, safely and cost effectively.
What you will work on
• Analyse the ways tech teams build, test, package and deploy their systems, so that we can understand common pain points encountered during software delivery
• Develop solutions that address key pain points in the software delivery tool chain
• Provide self-service APIs, tools and support that enable our tech teams to deliver changes into production frequently, safely and efficiently.
• 10% time – a half day every week to work on your own projects and develop your skills

Experience with any of the following tech would be useful. We don’t expect you to have worked with all of these but if you have experience with some it will be a bonus.
• Source Control – Git; Github;
• Continuous Integration & Delivery – CircleCI; Jenkins; GoCD;
• Cloud Platforms – AWS; Heroku;
• Programming & Scripting – Javascript/Typescript; Python; Go; Java; Bash;
• Application Hosting – Heroku; EC2; Containerisation; Serverless;
• Infrastructure as Code – Cloudformation; Terraform; Serverless Framework; SAM; CDK:
• Package Management – Nexus; JFrog; NPM; DockerHub
Key responsibilities
• Work as part of a small team using modern engineering practices including simple design, test automation, continuous delivery, defining infrastructure as code and service monitoring.
• Provide support to technology teams, helping them use code management, continuous integration and package management tools effectively.
• Be responsible for the development of high quality software – from idea through to delivery into production.
• Understand that operating systems in production effectively is just as important as building them.
